An error occured. The image could not be added because it already exists or it is corrupted.
I don't understand. I was trying to upload one of freetzo's old art here to make sure it doesn't get lost and I get this message and the image isn't added.

Ditto with a genshin impact picture from an artist retiring foot fetish entirely.

The images I'm uploading also didn't exist in this database in the first place.

Edit the image slightyl, best bet
Most likely, it means the image has already been here before.
Like adding a star or copying some background object to another place for example.

A script kiddie got access to delete posts and let their shitty code run until they got bored so the images still exist in the "Posted before" stuff

But if they were never posted, some bs is happening :/

I'm thinking it's the bad quality of the image in general
Was trying to upload Mari's Ghostly Problem and tried saving it as a png. Nada. Maybe it is the compressed quality. (JPG artifacts)

Image still existing would have give me "this image already exists. You can see it in (link)."

Same problem with the Genshin Impact pic I would have uploaded.

It's probably what Blue is saying: it was here and got removed in that mass deletion debacle from one-two years ago. And so the system will prevent you from reuploading it.

There is a simple workaround to this issue. Just follow these steps:

1. Open the desired image in MS Paint.

2. Use the Select tool and click and drag it from one corner pixel to the opposite one, marking the whole image.

3. Click Crop. This will removed about 1 px/mm from the edges of the image and so usually results in little to no loss in image quality.

4. Save Image As, name it whatever you like.

5. Upload the new image. Because it has been edited, booru won't recognize it as the same image and will let it through.

This method has worked every time I've used it. Hope it works for you too. Good luck!
