He's not actually confirmed to be a dude in the manga nor in the anime
But most people just say he's a dude in the manga but female in the anime, tbh I just wish people would make up their mind already.

Pitou doesn't have a gender because she's a chimera ant that has no need for biological reproduction. Since her appearance is feminine though, and has no penis, it's safe to call her female.
